Growing Citizens from Kindergarten through Graduation
At every ECS school, you'll see how our K-12 program grows engaged, thoughtful citizens ready to thrive in college, career, and community life.
- Environmental literacy and sustainability are woven through all subjects, inspiring students to care for their world and act as stewards of the environment.
- Hands-on, inquiry-based learning - from Primary discovery blocks to High School capstone projects - develops critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration
- Whole-child support ensures that academic, social, and emotional growth stay in balance at every stage of development.
- Strong community connections and partnerships enrich learning and provide authentic, real-world experiences.

ECS Locations
ECS Primary School

Address: 309 S. Braddock Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15221
Phone: 412-247-7970, x 1400 Located on S. Braddock Ave. in the old Park Place Building, the ECS Primary is home to our kindergarten through second graders. Complete with a garden, outdoor learning spaces, a black top, and a playground, the Primary School is near Frick Park and supports the idea of learning through play and outdoor education.
Tours at the Primary School are approximately 35–45 minutes long and typically begin around 9:00 AM, depending on the daily classroom schedule. Multiple time options are available on each date.
We find that these tours are most helpful for parents/guardians to attend on their own, as it can be challenging for little learners to stay engaged during the visit and allows parents to fully focus and ask questions. Our classrooms are full of exciting materials and activities, which can be distracting for young children, so we ask that you plan to attend without your child.
Address: 829 Milton St, Pittsburgh, PA 15218

ECS Intermediate houses students from third through fifth grades and is where our roots began when the district first opened in 2008. Nestled next to the 644 acres of Frick Park, students are often found peering under decomposing logs, taking water samples from the creek, watching for birds by the Monongahela River, or simply hiking through the park with their peers and teachers.
Tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately 30-45 minutes. Students are welcome and encouraged to attend with their parent/guardian to experience the school environment together.
ECS Intermediate School

Address: 1154 Chislett St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206
Phone: 412-247-7970, x 4400
Our high school is currently housed at the former St. Raphael’s school in the Morningside neighborhood. The high school is a stone’s throw from our middle school location and features large academic rooms, a gym, and plenty of green space for students to get outside. A park is located just on the edge of the campus, and students can enjoy outdoor eating spaces while being near several hiking areas.
We offer a variety of enrollment events for prospective families, including both in-person and virtual options. These events are held in the evening to accommodate family schedules.
